accio-xiuhan:

so there’s a post about how there’s a lack of xiuhan compared to ‘hunhan/krishan/layhan’ and since anon asked me this, I think there’s a lot of things (new) fans should consider.

actually my personal opinion/insight on this, i’ve said it in 2012, and it’s still the same situation 2014, basically.

there’s a difference in ‘shipping’ between korean and chinese fans. for the majority, not the entire population. it also depends on /who/ the fansite master is.

in my personal opinion, xiuhan might be shipped enough in korea, but a lot of shippers and xiumin fansites, hold back on most photos/videos. xiuhan in china on the other hand, is not shipped at all, or to put it nicely, rarely ever shipped.

it’s true that krishan, layhan, hunhan, etc interact a lot in the airport. most of the fans who share photos of them inside the airport are from chinese fans, who follow them to korea, hong kong, japan, even USA.

chinese fans imo, differ a little from the korean fansite masters. a lot of them “only take luhan photos - no otp, no interaction, etc.” but there’s just as many fansites who take the interaction photo and do post the preview and /hq/ of that photo. there’s also fans who solely take otp photos of their bias.

if you have an otp - it’s always easier to have more chinese fans shipping it than korean fans. because usually, whether it’s a fansite master or just a regular fan with a camera, chances are you’d get more photos of your otp together from a chinese fan~

think about it - twinned poison, lust kaution, neighbor56, roommate, and many many more, those are all from chinese fansites. or chinese fans in general.

so even inside incheon airport (in korea btw), if krishan or hunhan or kailu interacted, chinese fans are literally at every wall and corner taking that moment. or it could just be the two members walking together, but they’d always find a way to have them neatly in the frame.

now, exo12 and exo-m have promoted a lot in China btw. obviously there are a lot more Chinese fans there, so it’s a lot easier to capture their favorite otp(s) at the airport. their otp could be just walking together, but it’s so much easier to have those hq photos of them together.

that said, xiuhan is quite popular recently in korea i think? but even onstage, there aren’t a lot of photos taken of them. take for example this event: here

during the end of lucky, xiumin looks over to luhan + puts an arm around him  + they go back together. this was also at the /front/ of the stage. no other member/staff blocking that moment. it was the type of moment that you can’t miss, and it was plastered all over the big screen.

but we had only one photo from ‘mind control' shortly after that event. then after a few weeks, we had another single photo. we had a few of them just next to each other. you can say, korean fans (at least xiumin fans) tend to post the ‘safer version' of a moment.

exo-m performed ‘candy’ and there was a part with xiuhan bouncing on the ground + holding hands. we had some previews, but only one hq for each of the two days. that was december. we had 1-2 more just a few weeks ago, if fans suddenly felt in the mood to share something exotic, like xiuhan lol.

this is just one example. but that’s how xiuhan is shipped in korea. we might get enough previews (good previews even) but xiumin fans tend to pick the “safer version” of a photo and post that, instead of the photo with the actual moment. luhan fans rarely take xiuhan photos tbh? one or two (ie mind control/luhandazed might - it really depends on the fan’s mood if they want to share the preview or not). that’s if xiuhan were onstage. offstage, most likely fans would record it, but rarely ever share it.

onstage, korean fans might think it’s ok/safer to post any previews, because it’s an official event in front of an audience. any interaction backstage, in the airport, vip area of the airport, they tend to hold back. i.e. the melting dvd - xiuhan taking photo with a baby girl.

if anyone bought the luhan lovesick dvd there’s at least 2 big xiuhan moments in incheon airport. /incheon - korea/ but there was never a single ‘safe version’ preview even.

now, to the xiuhan fan a few posts below, it’s not that xiuhan haven’t interacted in China now. it’s just that quite frankly, no one cares about xiuhan because all they focus on is krishan, then layhan and taohan.

you can just go to the krishan/layhan/etc respective tumblr tags and see the amount of hd photos they get - versus xiuhan we have /blurry/ images of them lol.

keep in mind, any LQ airport photos you see we post of them at the Chinese airports, were never because the fan tagged it as xiumin, luhan or /xiuhan/ photo.

99% of any photos in Chinese airports are plainly tagged with just “luhan.” snowdeer0326@tumblr finds these photos but do you guys know how tiring it is sifting through weibo under the luhan tag - because 50,000+ new posts for him on a daily basis.

what’s the chance we might catch xiumin in just a “luhan tagged” photo right?

but frankly, it’s so easy for Chinese fans to include Kris or Lay or Kai or Sehun or Chanyeol with Luhan. and the good thing is, they tag the other members’ names with Luhan! better yet, the tag the pairing name.

when it comes down to it, it’s nearly impossible to find a “photo” even of xiumin and luhan “in the same frame.” you’d never find one when they interacted.

and Chinese fans might not ship them, might ignore this ship, but in all honesty, they ignore the “brotp/friendship’ of this ship along with it.

even when xiumin has taken care of and protected luhan when he’s sick with a mob of fans at incheon (in korea!) airport - no video or many hqs were ever posted. some previews, but not enough of ppl care enough to post the real stuff, even when imo was one of the most sincere actual moment ya know? it’s not fanservice, luhan was sick and xiumin was simply at his side taking care of him. i.e: here all under that tag, a lot of previews, but only 1-2 actual fansites posted originals.

this first gif is in Changsha, China btw.

image

these are from incheon (korea) and even in kfans think it’s offstage so shouldn’t publish. chinese fans following them don’t care obviously

image

image

these are only SOME of the moments that were released much later, if fans are in the mood again, xiuhan moments, released a year later only as a dvd preview (which we have to buy), or just the gif w/o an actual fancam bc we don’t know the context of them fooling around - just hugging - are these not good enough moments? if it were a popular otp wouldn’t it be a different story?

the best example of comparison would be this day 140213

image

this also in China btw.

you can look up the other luhan otps on google tagged 140213 and you can see just how vastly different our two shipping fandom is.

idgi - xiuhan is such a hated ship - mostly bc some fans think it cockblocks their own otp.

but have those fans ever stop and think 90% of the actual xiuhan bts moments never even get published?

versus other popular otps every moment photographed? or that instead of just previews, you guys have the priviledge of HDs, videos etc?

so xiuhan fans, it’s not that there’s no xiuhan, especially at the airport, it’s simply korean fans worry if it’ll affect their idol’s image, or most chinese fans simply do not care for any of it.

Today is my favorite day of the year :) It’s my birthday today :) Although I gotta go to extra class till late of evening and probably have no time for a party or something, I still wanna celebrate it a little with some selfie kekeke. Party can wait till the weekend :> I’m turning 23 years old today and feel grateful to what I have with me now: the air to breathe, good food to eat, people I love and those who love me unconditionally :) For few past years, I’ve travelled to many places, met lots of incredible people, took challenges and experienced different things as well as feelings. All I wish for the age of 23 is being healthy and able to live to the fullest of every moment. Stay healthy, enthusiastic and nothing is impossible. Thank you!!! :3 #happybirthday #selfie #love #grateful #wish #2241991 #2242014 #ageof23

after finishing the mini chick game, xiumin noticed something on luhan’s face and wanted to remove it. one of the members tried pulling his hood to get him back at standing position.  instead, he went ahead to remove it and double checked when luhan seemed worried. xiumin went back to standing postion afterwards (x / x)

No! Not that kind of bullshit ok?

Kết lại, thằng Mỹ quay sang bảo mình “Damn of course a girl who can cook will be really attractive but yes, if she’s willing to cook for me, I will be super grateful. That’s right, any guy should appreciate if a girl is willing to cook for him”
